I have been struggling with drawing hands recently so I decided it was time to try harder. They are not easy even with help from Andrew Loomis but I will keep trying.

At the art society last night we were asked to draw or paint from imagination after a poem was read to us. The poem was Sea Fever by John Masefield. I wandered off topic a little but at least there are boats!
The next painting in my musicians series is the keyboard player.
I know most of my posts are paintings but I couldn’t resist sharing this photo of Nuala and Fletcher in Upton Country Park this morning. They can be real posers when there is a tennis ball on offer!
The model for today’s portrait session at Broadstone Art Society was Lena. It was good to paint a pretty young model and as a bonus she doesn’t wear glasses. I hate painting glasses!
This is the third in my musicians series following the monochrome sketch I did yesterday. In some ways I prefer the first version!
This is a trial sketch for my next musician painting. It is just a water soluble pen and some wash. #penandwash
This is the second in my series of musicians. I think I overworked the background, Perhaps I should have left more white paper.
Playing with masking fluid this evening, it’s quite good for snow scenes.
At he Parish art group this morning we had a demonstration of different ways to use masking fluid. I didn’t use it in this painting but I was quite pleased with the colours.
