Another portrait session with Broadstone Art Society today. The sitter practices yoga so was able to keep incredibly still for the whole session, sadly this didn’t help me get a good likeness although I think her mum would recognise her!

We had to go to Somerset with the dogs for a charity presentation today so on the way back we took them for a walk on the downs at Melbury Abbas. It was far too cold and windy to stop and paint so I did this from a photo this evening.

I set myself the challenge of sketching at the Poole Park run this morning. Luckily the rain held off until the end. Having only a couple of seconds to capture a figure means that each figure comes from several sources, some of them start off male and end up female or the other way around so if you took part in this morning’s run you probably won’t recognise yourself in this picture!

The Acer tree in my neighbour’s front garden is the most amazing colour in the autumn and I intend to paint it every year but never do. This year I did and although I am not 100% happy with the result at least I won’t regret not trying once the leaves have all gone.
