Bodiam Castle in East Sussex is the sort of castle a child would draw if asked to draw a castle. Now owned by the National Trust this medieval fortress was built more as a display of wealth than a defensive structure. It was very hot there today but we found a bench under a large oak tree that gave plenty of shade for us and the dogs while still giving me a view to paint.
