Yesterday I visited the National Portrait Gallery to see the David Hockney exhibition. His drawing skills are amazing especially when he works with pen and ink. His large portraits in acrylics capture the essence of his sitters without being photo realistic, a great exhibition that inspired me to do even more portraits. I also went to the Royal Academy to see the Impressionists on paper exhibition. Some wonderful drawings by Renoir, Degas, Toulouse Lautrec and Van Gogh among others. I also did a quick tour of the Mall Gallery to see the Royal Institute of Oil Painters annual exhibition which inspired me to do more oils! So much to paint now!
