Ginny and I were sat by the beach in Torquay, Victoria, I was painting a watercolour of the view and watching people enjoying the sunshine when a truck and trailer stopped behind us and unloaded surf lifesaving equipment. We were quickly surrounded by junior lifesavers, their water safety team, instructors and parents who had come along for their weekly training. I took the opportunity to do a sketch in pen and wash sacrificing accuracy for speed as I guessed they would disappear on to the beach very soon. I showed the sketch to a couple of the club organisers and I’m pleased to say they liked it and asked me to share it with them on Facebook. So thank you to the wonderful girls of the Jan Juc surf life saving club for their kind comments about my sketch.
