Las sat for her portrait at Broadstone Art Society this morning in a lovely magenta jumper. I used oils with a zone pallet which is limited to red, yellow ochre black and white plus blue for the background. I know it’s possible to mix great flesh tones because a lot of Dutch old masters used this pallet but I couldn’t make it work, the skin tones are way off.
