I visited the Southampton Art Gallery today with Gill to see the Leonardo drawings. They are superb but much smaller than I imagined. Apparently paper was very expensive 500 years ago so they had to make the most of every piece, they should have bought it on line where it’s cheaper.
I didn’t attempt to copy any Da Vinci drawings because the gallery was dark and quite busy but there was plenty to draw in the rest of the galleries including one devoted to Sir Edward Burne-Jones and his Perseus series. This is my attempt at Perseus rescuing Andromeda from a giant eel. I don’t know why she is naked and seems unconcerned about the whole thing, I just like drawing nudes.
Wow that looks really good. I’ll put mine on Facebook in a mo. Really enjoyed discussing the different pictures. Thank you.Gill x
