A bit of a disaster tonight. I thought I would paint Ziggi again using a wetter technique but it went wrong from the start. I put one eye in the wrong place and I couldn’t get the paint to flow properly so I ended up overworking it again. Also I am not happy with the paper I am using. I t is very old Saunders watercolour paper that I must have had for 20 years, it just sucks the water up and doesn’t let the paint move..

Ooops! But there are some nice colours in his face. For the eyes leave a large oval of dry paper and put in your wash around that. The paint won’t flow into the dry section so you can put in more detail there without it flowing over where you don’t want it to.
