I picked up my amazing new guitar today. It was built for me by my old friend Cliff, we started school together in 1963 so have known each other a while. He makes guitars for a hobby and made me this from a selection of woods including sycamore, mahogany, swamp cedar and antique Indian rosewood for the fingerboard. The inlay is Pau shell from New Zealand to add a link to my brother and his family in Auckland. As a thank you I painted a portrait for him using reference photos taken by Cherry. Thankfully he recognised himself! So thanks again Cliff, it’s a beautiful guitar.

  1. Morning David, Lovely guitar, the sound holes are spot on and must have been really hard work to get right, hope you and GInny are well.

    1. Hi Andrew. Yes it went through many design stages before we got the balance right. It needs a bit more setting up, the action is a little high but I want everything to settle before I make too many adjustments. It sounds really good and the through neck gives bags of sustain. All well here thanks, how are things in Wales?

      1. Yeah not bad. I have been shielding and working from since March so only just starting to go back to work one or two days a week, and Jackie has just retired!
